At the heart of our network are people. People who bring individual strengths and ideas to our projects. People who form the network of knowledge between theory and practice. And people who form the bridge between community and neighbourhood.
We are creating a network of research and knowledge sharing through the University of Alberta’s Affordable Housing Solutions Lab and the Roundhouse with the Social Innovation Institute at MacEwan University. We are looking for best practices in creating neighbourhoods where housing is affordable, the community is integrated, and social enterprise is alive and well.
Of course there are many housing providers and organizations to cooperate with, both market and non-market. We also look to our neighbouring municipalities by making relationships with organizations such as the St. Albert Affordable Housing Society, as well as working with First Nations and Metis communities.
And we work with government partnerships at all levels: municipal, provincial, and federal. Our relationships go beyond funding requests, and we work to be an active partner in determining the future of our city.
