Paul KOWAL, RPP
Development Coordination Specialist
Paul started his career in the building industry as an architectural draftsperson after graduating with a diploma in architectural technology from NAIT. After several years in the field, he went back to school and completed a B.A. in regional and urban development (planning option) from the University of Saskatchewan. He went on to work for planning departments in municipalities in British Columbia and Alberta for the next 30-plus years. Of those years, 25 were dedicated to development permitting.
Since retiring from the City of Edmonton, Paul continues to support private industry by guiding businesses through development permit processes. His objective is to fill the gap that exists between municipalities and developers by reducing design and timeline issues associated with complex zoning and land use bylaw regulations.
